Immediate Life Support for Dentists Level 3 (VTQ) (ILS)

Classroom & blended ILS courses starting at £500 at your location in Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, & West Yorkshire.

Course Information

The Dental Immediate Life Support course aims to equip dental personnel with the knowledge and the necessary skills to effectively respond to cardiac arrest situations until professional medical assistance arrives. This course comprises of comprehensive lectures and practical sessions, covering topics such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, basic airway management, and safe defibrillation. By participating in this one-day program, dental staff will gain the confidence and competence to handle these critical situations as individuals or as part of a resuscitation team.

This course is designed to equip dental professionals with the knowledge and the necessary skills to identify the causes of cardiopulmonary arrest and implement preventive measures. Participants will learn to recognise and manage deteriorating patients using the ABCDE approach, perform high-quality CPR and defibrillation, and execute basic airway maneuvers. Furthermore, the course emphasises the significance of non-technical skills in fostering effective leadership and teamwork during critical situations.

The course syllabus is meticulously crafted to adhere to and surpass the stringent standards set forth by the Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) and the European Resuscitation Councils Guidelines 2021. Additionally, it meticulously aligns with the General Dental Councils (GDC) development outcomes C.

At Every Second Counts First Aid & Safety Training, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Our courses undergo rigorous evaluation and independent certification by Protrainings, ensuring they align with universally recognised Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Guidelines.

These courses are accompanied by a CPD Statement of 6 hours, which serves as a formal certification of the professional development hours earned.
